To better serve the economic and trade exchanges between China and Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs), a delegation led by CCILC-Macau President Bernie Leong paid a visit to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese Countries (Macao) recently. Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng extended a warm reception to them.
Bernie Leong extended his congratulations to the success of the special ministerial meeting of Forum Macau, and introduced the historical background and development of the CCILC. When talking about the recent work of CCILC, Bernie Leong expressed the need to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Secretariat of the China-Portugal Forum and jointly work on China-PSCs cooperation. Representatives of CCILC-Macau also made speeches. Over the years, the member companies have done a lot of work in various fields of Sino-Portuguese cooperation, including finance, law, exhibition, trade, industry, etc. Under the opportunity and framework of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and the Guangdong-Macau Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, enterprises have benefited a lot. Although they are deeply troubled by the pandemic now, they all hope that under the guidance of the Forum, CCILC will play a good role in connecting and jointly promoting the cooperation between China and PSCs.
Ji Xianzheng, Secretary-General of the Secretariat of Forum Macao, welcomed the CCILC delegation on behalf of the Forum, and introduced the construction of the service platform for business cooperation between China and PSCs and the special ministerial meeting just held. He said that the cooperation between China and PSCs is of great significance, and Macau has a unique platform advantage. Referring to the concerns of the representatives of CCILC on how to carry out work in Greater Bay Area under the pandemic, Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng said that participating in economic and trade promotion activities between China and PSCs is one of the five functions of the permanent secretariat of the Forum. He hoped that the CCILC and the Secretariat would maintain regular interactive exchanges, consolidate the first mover advantages of the Macau platform and jointly promote exchanges and cooperation between Macau's business community and PSCs.
